Korean Music Festival @ Hollywood Bowl

(1) 모임 소개: KoreanLA
제가 모임지기를 하고 있는 클럽 중 The Korean Language and Culture Club - Los Angeles라는 클럽이 있습니다. KoreanLA.org으로 통하고 있는 클럽인데요. "한국 문화와 언어를 사랑하는 사람들의 모임"이라고 설명할 수 있는 이 클럽은 이름 그대로 한국어와 문화를 배우기 위해 모인 외국인들의 모임입니다.뭐 당연히 2세들과 한국어 원어민들도 있는데요. 모임 자체는 비한국인을 위한 모임이고, 그래서 비한국인이 훨씬 많습니다. 2009년 4월 27일 현재 회원이 460명이 넘습니다.

(2) 가는 곳 소개: Korean Music Festival
매년 5월 쯤, 로스 엔젤레스의 헐리우드 보울에서 Korean Music Festival이라는 콘서트가 열립니다. 이 콘서트에 매년 클럽 사람들을 끌고 가는데요. 올해는 회원 중 30여명이 가기로 했습니다. 거기에 클럽 회원이 아닌 외국인들10여명, 그리고 한국어 학생 (제가 한국어를 가르칩니다) 5명도 가겠다고 하니 약 45명을 데리고가게 되었네요.

(2) 이벤트 소개:
사실 컨서트는 핑계이고 근본 목적은 친교입니다. 콘서트 시작 전에 모여서 친교를 하고 와인도 마시고 찐계란도 먹는 등 한국식 피크닉을 계획하고 있는데요. 여러분도 오셨으면 좋겠습니다.

피크닉 참석 비용
참가여부(RSVP)를 해 주실 때 무엇을 가지고 올 수 있을 지 말씀해 주세요. 5월 6일에 마감입니다만, 한국분들은 5월 8일 정오 12시까지 받습니다.

아무것도 못 가지고 오시면 $10을 내시면 됩니다 (아무것도 안 잡수셔도 내시게 됩니다).

Yes, you read it right: Korean, music, festival, Hollywood Bowl -- all in one sentence! Add summer night, friends, social, networking and a lot of laughter too, and we have "May 9, 2009!"

Tickets sell out FAST, and I say this with extreme urgency! We learned that as of mid-March, cheap seats we are looking at were selling faster than we thought! Middle seats are already sold out. So, folks, I need your RSVP yesterday!

PLAN
We will meet early at about 2 PM for a picnic to enjoy fine wine and weather together. Bring snacks and blankets! Then we will appreciate the music, take breaks together, get back to our benches for more music appreciation, and, oh who knows, go for late night snack afterward.

TICKETS
Hollywood Bowl is not open seating, so there's no guarantee that we will sit together unless we buy tickets together. So we will buy group tickets in stages.

Due date for the second group: April 17, 2009

Please RSVP and pay in advance by due date to secure your seat(s).

You will receive email confirmation from me or Theresa Tong, the Event Host. We will not risk mailing you tickets; we don’t want them to be lost in mail!

ARE YOU BRINGING A GUEST? We will not be able to switch around seats later, so if you are bringing guests, please RSVP/pay for them too!

COST
$15- and $20 tickets are sold out. The tickets we are aiming now is $30-seat. The current due is $33.80 per person.

FYI, breakdown of the price:
$30 ticket + $2.50 service charge by KMF/Koreatimes + $1.30 transaction fee by PayPal = $33.80

If tickets we want sell out by due date, we have two options (1) we will refund your money (minus $1 for PayPal charges), or (2) we will buy higher-priced available tickets, and you will pay the difference (don’t worry, we will ask you first).

NO REFUND. If your plan changes, you have an option to sell your ticket to someone else. You are buying tickets from Korean Music Festival, not from KoreanLA. KMF does not issue refunds.
